With two Nikon cameras and a stack of vintage maps, photographer Sondra Diepen heads out on I-40, exiting here and there, to rediscover the original Mother Road as it once wound across New Mexico.

A resident of New Mexico since 1974, artist/photographer Sondra Diepen has spent the past ten years traveling the cities, villages, and ghost towns along Route 66 of her beloved Land of Enchantment.

Culled from hundreds of her photographs and the many facts, memories, and stories she collected, Route 66 New Mexico: A Visual Tour offers a sampling of what you, too, can discover touring The Mother Road in New Mexico.
