El Rancho Hotel, Gallup: Where the Movie Stars Stayed. El Rancho soon became the headquarters for movie productions and a first-class, home-away-from-home for Hollywood's movie stars... The hotel, with its Western flavor, was also used as a stage set for scenes in the movies... It also housed a popular bar. During filming, it became the favorite hangout, earning Wild West fame for the drinking, gambling, brawling, and loud ragtime music. It has been reported that during raucous evenings, Errol Flynn would ride his horse into the hotel, right up to the bar, and order a drink..."
